Tentesca

Here you can see a fairly rare tentesca (ten - tess - ka). This aquatic creature has what looks like a lure protruding from its head. Truth be told, that "lure" serves mainly as a device to entertain the tentesca as it floats along - moving it back and forth in a playful manner. However, the tentesca can also us the "lure" as a club to hit fish as they swim by. Usually only temporarily stunning the fish, the tentesca must then propel itself over to the fish to devour it. The tentesca's tentacles pack quite the sting - coupled with the club-like "lure", the tentesca can be a threat from above and below to any unsespecting fish.

Well, we'll let this guy float along in peace - let's move along, kiddos!
