Red Moose
After that long trip through the Imagitoons Zoo you could probably use a little energy boost! Why not try Red Moose, the energy drink that gives you so much energy it literally gives you laser eyes! That's both an advertisement and a warning...drink at your own risk!
Colossus Bird
The colossus (co-loss-us) bird is one of the largest birds on the planet and by far the largest bird at the Imagitoons Zoo! Colossus birds are so large that they need four stout legs to hold them up! Their small wings have no hope of allowing the birds to fly so instead they are used to cool the bird in the Sun's heat! These birds really ham it up for a crowd, which is why they are one of my favorites! This particular bird eats A LOT - anything we give it - and we are constantly having to clean its exhibit...in fact it looks like we need to now!
Well my friends, that's the Imagitoons Zoo thus far! You've been our first guests through since we opened - I'm sure we'll add more animals soon! Now back to your regularly scheduled Imagitoons...

Ghost Bird
Here we have one of our creepiest creatures, the ghost bird! This nocturnal creature gets its name from its ghastly gray feathers...and the fact that it's eggs always have markings that resemble "R.I.P." on tombstones!! They also get their name from the ghostly howls that they make - no happy little chirps come from these birds! These birds tend to stay in groups which can become very menacing very quickly! Here you can see that ghost birds like mud - lots and lots of mud so we've done our best here at the Imagitoons Zoo to provide for them!!
Well, it looks like we're coming to the end of our visit, but we've saved one of my favorites for last!!

Emicolo Bird
We go from a bird that goes crazy when it sees color to a bird that emits color while it flies! It's the emicolo (em-E-co-low) bird! This bird is fun to watch especially since you never know which colors are going to be made when it flies! The emicolo is a bird that spends most of its time flying because its small stubby legs make it hard to for it to get around on the ground. These birds typically live in heavily wooded rain forests, which makes their colors easy to see in the shade provided by the trees. The length of the color trail depends on the age of the bird - the older it is, the longer the color trail! It is said to be good luck to walk through a emicolo's color trail which is relatively easy to do in the wild since they fly in groups. You can often find a trail of several colors lingering after a group of emicolos fly through!
We could stand here all day and watch these amazing birds...but we should make room for others to see them! Let's move along, Kiddos!

Twit
Hello again, Kiddos! Here we have a twit (t-wit). As you can see, we keep this bird in an all white room - this is because twits can be very excitable when they see multiple colors. We are currently viewing the twit through a false window - the twit sees a blank white wall on the other side. These creatures are very dangerous and hostile in the wild. This is because all of the colors that exist in nature. Once the colors are removed, twits behave peacefully, just like the one you see here! Even in an all white room though we sometimes have problems because the twit can see the color on its own wings and beak!
We'll leave this peculiar bird alone, let's see what's next!

Purpala
Welcome to the Imagitoons Zoo Aviary!! Our first stop brings us to the small purpala (perp-all-uh). These birds perch on small branches and sing nearly all day long, stopping only for a meal of bugs. They really like to stay in groups - in fact, it is very rare to see a lone purpala. Purpalas have naturally purple feathers and pink beaks, which makes them easy to spot in the wild. These aren't your average everyday backyard birds - if you ever do see one in your backyard it's probably only because they are in the middle of their bi-yearly trans-continental worldwide migration which no one is really sure why they take!
Let's keep moving along, there are a lot of interesting creatures in our aviary!!

Swatat Turtle
Finishing out the Imagitoons Zoo Reptile House is the swatat (sw-at-at) turtle. Visitors always compare this creature to the Star Wars "AT-AT" vehicle, for obvious reasons. In truth, it is a good comparison because as few people know, the "AT-AT" was modeled after the swatat turtle! Swatat turtles can be very menacing as once full grown they can stand nearly 4 ft (1.22 m) tall! Swatat turtle legs alone can grow up to 3 ft (0.91 m) long!! These creatures are dwindling in numbers because their legs are seen as delicacies in remote parts of the world. The turtles that do remain stay in groups, wandering across open fields in search of a nice shrubbery lunch!

Reptyle
Moving from one that likes it hot to one that seems to have a cold, this is our reptyle (rep-tile). The name comes from the fact that it is hard to tell which group of animals this creature belongs to - some refer to it as the "platypus of reptiles". This creature has a very poor immune system and gets sick quite often. When the reptyle is feeling better he usually is a pretty jubilant creature and romps around outside entertaining our guests here at the zoo. In the wild these creatures stay in groups which actually encourages the spread of illnesses, but the reptyles are good at taking care of their own when they are sick. We're hoping to get another reptyle here at the Imagitoons Zoo soon!
Well, let's let this guy sleep and hopefully he'll feel better in the morning!
