Reptasoar

When the reptasoar was first discovered, it was believed that the flaps on its arms were wings.  We have since come to learn that the flaps of skin have many blood vessels through them and serve as a body temperature regulation system.  The twin stars of Yla are vastly different distances from the planet, which makes the day/night cycle much more volatile than on Earth.  Because of this, their eyesight has developed to be extremely clear in all levels of light.

Coraphi

Coraphi are the playful swimmers of Yla.  They are agile and fast, able to outrun any predators that are hunting them.  They also like to toy with their attackers - often frustrating them to the point that they give up.  Coraphi themselves feed off of the coral at the bottom of the ocean.
